One hundred and fifty years ago, a seventeen year old student sang about our country with slightly clumsy but heartfelt words. The words by Johan Ulrich Bornhauser, a seminarist from Weinfelden, together with the melody by Johannes Wepfs, a poor and untalented schoolmaster, became the Thurgau song. Although experts do not consider it valuable, it is an old, jovial and familiar song!
